Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging millions of children across 64 different countries, making it the largest environmental schools programme in the world. The programme provides a framework for learning and action around nine topics –biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste and water.
The Eco team at Coppice is pupil-led and encourages whole school involvement. It offers many benefits for individual pupils, developing their knowledge and skills and improving their well-being. The fifty strong team organises everything from litter collection, energy usage monitoring, recycling and this year is focusing on waste reduction.
Coppice was awarded the Green Flag in 2015 and is hoping to have this prestigious award renewed later this year.
